    Box at Work is a young startup business renting out 100% reusable plastic boxes for inner-city storage and moving solutions. We deliver the boxes, you pack them and either we pick them up and store them in one of our secure storage facilities for as long as you like or pick up the empty boxes at your new address.

  • How environmental friendly is Box at Work?

    Our boxes consist of 100% recyclable plastic and can be used hundreds of times. Box at Work provides the ultimate green box! In comparison to your regular cardboard box, our long-lasting boxes save hundreds of trees, water, and electricity. Paper and cardboard accumulate to 20% of the waste in the Western world. Time to make changes and save the world by moving green! Rent your boxes conveniently and help the environment at the same time.

    We are currently providing and storing boxes within Berlin, Hamburg, Osnabrück, Münster/Münsterland, Dortmund, Bochum, Witten, Hagen and Stuttgart.

  • What happens when my boxes aren't delivered on time?

    We want to deliver the best service there is. Therefore we guarantee to deliver the boxes at the time and date as agreed upon. If we do not follow up on this promise we pay you back the full amount of the order.

  • How does it work?

    Storage

    Order your boxes and select a delivery date with a convenient time slot, then we will deliver the boxes for free to the provided address.

    Pack your boxes and gather your bulky items.

    We pick up all your boxes and bulky items and bring them to our dry and secured storage facility at no additional charge.
    When you need your boxes back, simply visit our website, choose a time and location, and we deliver them to your home or office (low fixed rate applies).

    Moving

    Order your boxes and select a delivery date with a convenient time slot, then we will deliver the boxes for free to the provided address.
    Pack your boxes and move them to your new location. Once you have unpacked the boxes, we will pick up all empty boxes at your new home or office at no additional charge on the scheduled pick-up date and time.

  • Why is plastic better than cardboard?

    Plastic boxes are better for you and the environment.
    Our reusable boxes are easy to stack and when empty easy to slide into each other saving space during and after your move. They are stronger than cardboard, easy to carry due to ergonomic handles, and water repellent. No more cracks or dents, and you will never need to seal or enhance the box with tape. In addition, our boxes can be closed firmly and are easy stackable – so nothing gets in or out! Box at Work takes hygiene seriously: after usage all boxes will be cleaned and disinfected.

    Save trees by using plastic.
    Our 100% recyclable plastic box can be used up to 400 times and will be recycled afterwards. A cardboard box in comparison can be used 1-3 times before disappearing in the attic or in landfills (20% of the waste disposed in landfills consists of paper and cardboard!). If the entire country would use our plastic boxes, we could save millions of trees, millions liters of water, and millions of square meters of garbage PER YEAR.

    Cardboard boxes can also be reused!
    True, but cardboard boxes last for about 1-3 moves and recycling a cardboard box still uses tons of clean water, costly energy, requires labor, and causes pollution. Additionally, every new cardboard box needs 30% of NEW cardboard pulp, which is made from trees, in order to obtain the same sturdy board structure.

  • What are your office hours?

    Our business hours are Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 20:00, and Saturdays from 09:00 to 17:00 o’clock.

  • Why is Box at Work a better storage solution?

    We take care of everything! Save yourself the money and hassle – we provide sturdy and easily stackable plastic boxes (so you don’t have to buy the cardboard alternative), deliver the boxes to your doorstep for free, pick them up and return them to you whenever you need them back. Furthermore, we offer a clear and transparent payment system, no hidden costs. You pay per box or item and not per square meter, meaning you never pay for room you don’t use.

  • Is there a maximum weight or length?

    Yes, although we really try to store all of your items, one person should be able to carry them and therefore, items should weigh less than 25kg. For oversized items, just email us at support@boxatwork.com or call us at 0800 1040401.

  • What will fit in the box?

    Our boxes measure 60cm x 40cm x 37cm (67 L) and therefore, are larger than the normal cardboard box. In addition, they are sturdier keeping your valuable belongings save. The images on Instagram give you a clear idea of how many items will fit in a box. So you can get an idea of the number of boxes you will need for your stuff.

     

  • How fast can Box at Work deliver/pick up my items?

    Within 24 hours.

  • Do I need to be at home for delivery and pick-up?

    Yes. Box at Work delivers directly to you. We will send you an email confirmation with the requested time-frame of the delivery and give you a call shortly before arrival. You or someone who represents you (this person should be officially noted/communicated to us) needs to be at the agreed address for delivery and pickup of the boxes. If you can give us additional information about your address, please do so (e.g. concierge service, corner house, etc.).

  • How can I manage my boxes and bulky items in the cloud?

    In your online account you can see which and how many boxes and bulky items you have in storage. All boxes and bulky items are marked with a visible barcode for easy recognition. If you like, you can even tag boxes and bulky items or upload pictures of the contents of each box so you always know what is in it.

    Before delivery, we will send you an email with step-by-step instructions on how this works. For your convenience, we provide you with a list to document the content of each box. If you lose the paper or do not remember what was in your boxes, we can (after your approval) open the boxes for you and upload the pictures to your account.

  • What happens when I need more/less boxes during delivery?

    We can offer you additional boxes if they are available in the truck. Otherwise, you will need to place a new order on our website, per email support@boxatwork.com or by phone at 0800 1040401. If you have ordered too many boxes and don’t need to store them, we will take them back for free.

  • Can I buy your boxes?

    Yes, you may do so through your online account. You will see an option to purchase whatever box you like for just 25 €.

  • How fast can I get my boxes and items returned?

    That’s easy, just login to your account and choose a convenient date and timeslot. The address will automatically be the same as the one where we have picked-up your boxes. We can deliver them within 24 hours for only € 9,99. You have a standard of 20 minutes to unpack your boxes. Need more time? Email us at support@boxatwork.com or call us at

  • Who do I contact when I want to make a change?

    You do not necessarily need to contact us. You can easily make changes when you login to your online account. If you need help, you can always contact us via email at support@boxatwork.com or by phone at 0800 1040401.

  • What happens if I forgot my password for my online account?

    On our website, click the ’I forgot my password’ button, enter your email address and we will send you an email containing a link to reset your password. If this does not work or you need additional help please email us at support@boxatwork.com or call us at 0800 1040401.

  • Can I pick-up the boxes at your storage facility?

    Unfortunately, you cannot pick-up the boxes at our storage facility. In order to guarantee the security of our facility we do the delivering for you.

  • Will you open the boxes?

    No, we deliver tie wrapswith the boxes in order to safely lock your boxes before we pick them up. We care about your privacy. The tie wraps are on the house but you can buy sequential numbered tie wraps for super safety.

    However, we are obliged to open the boxes when we suspect illegal content (see our terms and conditions).

  • Who is the legal owner of the boxes?

    Box at Work stays the legal owner of the boxes during the entire process. Unless you buy a box of course.

  • Is my data safe?

    Yes, your data is safe with us. We will not provide any of the information from your account to third parties.

  • What can I store?

    You may store almost everything that fits in the box as long as the lids close tightly. We can also store all your bulky items like bikes, skis, suitcases, etc. We accept bulky items under 25 kg and as long as one person can carry them. Still some questions?     Things you can’t store with us:
    – Foods, liquids or perishable items

    – Illegal items, including but not limited to drugs and explosives

    – Animals and living creatures

    – Flammable materials including but not limited to petrol, oil and gas

  • How big are your 100% reusable plastic boxes?

    Our plastic boxes are larger than the standard cardboard box. They measure 60cm x 40cm x 37cm and have convenient, hinged lids so that they close tightly and are stackable.

  • What if I need to store something too big for the box?

    No problem! We also store your bulky items. When bigger than 1200x800x400 we can make you a m²-offer.

  • How does the delivery & pick-up work?

    After you have chosen a convenient delivery date and time slot Box at Work delivers and picks up the storage boxes for free. The prices you see on our website are all-inclusive prices!

    Our driver delivering the boxes will call you 20 minutes before he arrives. He can even wait for 20 minutes so you can pack your boxes. You need more time packing? No worries our driver will pick them up at later time or on a different date.

  • What are the payment methods for storing boxes?

    We accept all major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express) and SEPA payment for your storage solutions. For your convenience, we process payments every month automatically. If you want to cancel your storage option, please contact us and we will make sure everything will be arranged.

  • Where are my boxes/items stored?

    We have multiple warehouses in different cities. Depending on which city you are located it will be stored in the nearest warehouse.

  • What happens if I am not there when you deliver?

    Our driver will call you 20 minutes before the delivery or pickup, if you don’t respond he will drive to your address and wait for 20 minutes.

  • How can I change or cancel my order?

    Something has changed? No problem, via your online account you are able to change everything free of charge untill 24 hours before delivery/pick up.

  • Is there a minimum storage periode?

    Yes, the minimum storage period is 3 months. Afterwards you only pay per day.

  • Do I get a confirmation and invoice of my order?

    Yes, you will get an email with all your account details. You will also receive an invoice with all the details of your order. The day before the scheduled delivery date we will send you a reminder by email.

  • When do I start paying?

    Once your boxes/items have made its way safely to our warehouse for storage, this is the same date as the pick-up. You'll be charged monthly, always on the first of every month. You pay exactly for the amount of days the boxes/items are in storage.

  • What happens when I ordered more boxes than I need?

    That is not a problem. To be on the safe-side order more boxes than too less. You only pay for the boxes/items that go into one of our warehouses. When we pick everything up we will also take the empty ones.

  • How many times can I get my boxes redelivered?

    As many times as you want. You even have the option to get something back temporarily in order to get it picked up for storage again. The first redelivery we give you for free, afterwards we charge you a flat rate of 9,99 euro.

  • How can I keep track of my boxes?

    As soon as your boxes are stored in our storage facility, you will see them with their barcodes in your online account. You can then start uploading pictures.

Moving

  • How big are the plastic moving boxes?

    Our plastic moving boxes are larger than the standard cardboard moving box. They measure 60cm x 40cm x 37cm and have convenient, hinged lids so that they close tightly and are stackable.

  • How does the delivery & pick-up work?

    You can place your order here on our website. Select the number of boxes or moving package you want to rent and the delivery and pick-up dates which are most convenient for you. Box at Work will send you an email confirmation of your order and will call you before the delivery or pick up.

  • Are there any hidden costs?

    No. Box at Work is simple: what you see is what you get! All prices are listed on our pricing page. Furthermore, the delivery and pick-up of our boxes is free of charge for moving.

When finished unpacking the boxes earlier than expected and you want to schedule an earlier pick-up date, you can do so by sending us an email: support@boxatwork.com or by dialing 0800 1040401. We will do our best to pick-up the boxes at an earlier date.

  • How fast can Box at Work provide the boxes?

    Within 24 hours. We will deliver all the boxes you need right to your doorstep.

  • Why use Box at Work for my next move?

    Our moving boxes are stronger, more durable and easier to use during your move. Since we deliver them to and pick them up from your address at no cost, you save valuable time and energy. Our boxes need no assembly or tape to seal them – no ripping, no bottoms falling out.

  • How do I use a trolley?

    Box at Work rents out small four-wheel trolleys which you can use to move the boxes around. They can hold up to 5 full boxes. Trolleys make your move much faster and easier since you don’t have to carry the boxes.

  • What are the payment methods for moving boxes?

  • Can I rent the reusable plastic boxes for a longer time?

    Absolutely! If you need an extra week in order to fill, move, and unpack the boxes, you can extend the rental time. Just contact us by email: support@boxatwork.comor phone dialing 0800 1040401. We charge only 0.99 € per box for each additional week – that’s a 50% discount! Call for volume discounts.

  • I outsourced my move to a moving company; can I still use Box at Work?

    Absolutely! Using Box at Work moving boxes is much more convenient than ordinary cardboard boxes. Not only is packing and unpacking of the 10% larger boxes easier, but their ergonomic handles make them easy to carry and their sturdy lids enable the stacking of multiple boxes on top of each other. This will save the moving company time when loading and unloading the boxes and prevent broken items saving you lots of money and hassle. Plus you don’t have to buy the cardboard boxes from the hired moving company, which are generally more expensive.

  • Can I order additional boxes during my move?

    Of course! Box at Work can always deliver extra boxes to your address. Simply order the additional boxes through our website or give us a call.
